Support
- Blumenthal Cancer Center. Provides support to patients, family and friends through counseling, support groups, a resource library and educational programs that promote understanding, hope and healing.
- Breast Cancer Network of Strength. Information on breast cancer, treatments, breast health, stages, etc. They also have programs for breast cancer patients.
- Breast Cancer Resource Directory of North Carolina. Provides patients, survivors, their families and friends with free, comprehensive information, support and resources to help them through the breast cancer process.
- Cancer Care Online. Provides free support to anyone affected by cancer.
- Carolina Breast Friends. CBF is a non-profit organization that units and helps women with breast cancer in all stages of survival. The organization centers around those who want to create a social and educational outlet for women united in a sisterhood of survival and hope.
- Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region. End of life care for patients and support for families.
- Living Beyond Breast Cancer. LBBC offers information on breast cancer treatment, recurrence, testing and side effects.
- Presbyterian Buddy Kemp Caring House. Offers support groups, counseling services, educational programs and a resource library for individuals of all ages diagnosed with cancer, their families and friends.
- Wind River Services. Provides a place for cancer patients to escape.
Organizations (National and Local)
- American Cancer Society - South Atlantic Division. The ACS is dedicated to fighting cancer, by preventing it, saving lives and researching cures. They provide education on all aspects of cancer and collaborate with other cancer organizations.
- American College of Radiology (ACR). A core element of the ACR's mission is to maximize the quality and safety of patient care by providing resources to help you make informed decisions.
- Avon Foundation. The Avon Foundation works to help medically underserved women to breast health education and screening services. They also develop partnerships with community-based outreach providers.
- Breast-MRI.org Educating women and Healthcare Professionals about Breast MRI
- National Breast Cancer Coalition. the NBCC trains advocates who lobby at the national, state and local levels for public policies that impact breast cancer research, diagnosis and treatment.
- National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.. NBCC's sister organization, the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, empowers and trains advocates to be effective in the fight to end breast cancer. NBCCF gives women the tools to make their own informed decisions and take a leadership role with legislative, scientific and clinical decision makers.
- Susan G. Komen for the Cure (National). Susan G. Komen for the Cure is fighting every minute of every day to finally, once and for all, finish what we started and achieve our vision of a world without breast cancer.
- Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Charlotte Affiliate). The Charlotte Affiliate is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. Up to 75% of the Affiliate's net income goes toward funding grants to local hospitals and community organizations providing breast health education & breast cancer screening/treatment programs for medically underserved women.
- The Society of Breast Imaging. A professional medical organization dedicated to improving the practice of breast imaging, enhancing the quality of breast imaging education and providing a medium for the exchange of ideas among those involved in breast imaging.
