What are Varicose Veins?
Veins return blood back to your heart and have one-way valves that prevent the blood from flowing backwards due to gravity. If the valves do not close properly, the blood will pool in that area of the vein. This abnormal collection of blood will push the vein walls outward, causing the vein to enlarge and bulge, commonly called a varicose vein.
What are Spider Veins?
Similar to varicose veins, spider veins are non-painful, smaller veins that are closer to the skin's surface. They appear red or blue in color and form web-like or tree branch-like designs. They can be found on the legs or face and typically do not cause any health concerns.
What are my treatment options?
Depending on the type of vein problem, EVLT (Endovenuous Laser Treatment) or sclerotherapy treatment may be appropriate.
