Charlotte Radiology | Mobile Mammography

Participate in a

Community Event.

Charlotte Radiology offers a variety of mobile mammography events that are open to the public. From free screening events held monthly at local YMCA's to frequent stops in outlying communities, there are many ways to promote education and mammograms during your event.

    • Each site location should have a designated contact to assist Charlotte Radiology with screening logistics.
    • There must be a level, paved area for parking that accommodates 48 feet in length and 15 feet in height.
    • Please make sure that the mobile accommodations are in close proximity to a restroom. There is no restroom on the mobile breast center.
    • Please send directions and a map of the parking area to the Charlotte Radiology Program Manager.
  • Must be a woman 35 and older. Physician referral not required but must have a physician's name for reporting purposes.

Women under 35 with a history of breast cancer (mother or sister with breast cancer before age 50) are eligible. Physician referral is required in this case.

Must be one year since previous mammogram.

Must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.

No new breast lumps/concerns. Patients should promptly contact their physician for evaluation if experiencing breast problems.

Our scheduling coordinator will be able to discuss and clarify any questions regarding patient eligibility.

Community FAQs

  • The minimum number of participants is based on your location. For groups located in the Charlotte area, a minimum of 25 participants per day is required. If your event will take place outside of the Charlotte area, please call 704.334.7812 to determine the minimum requirement.

  • We recommend reserving the mobile breast center at least two months prior to your event; however, 45 days is the required notice in order to allow enough time for promotion and scheduling. A minimum of 25 participants must be booked by two weeks prior to the scheduled event.

  • Screenings provided to insured patients can be billed to the individual's insurance company. If your organization is not able to provide funding for the uninsured patients, a discounted self-pay fee is due at the time of service. If the patient does not pay at the time of service, payment for the non-discounted rate can be arranged after the exam.
