There was abnormal blood flow in the veins deep in her body so any minor procedures done at the surface level would eventually cause the veins to return.
After meeting the vein team at Charlotte Radiology, Catherine felt informed and ready to begin her customized vein treatment consisting of a minimally invasive Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) procedure and medical Sclerotherapy.
During Catherine’s recovery, she continued to do light exercise (under guidance) and once healed, she felt confident and comfortable in showing her legs again. Catherine says, “It was liberating! Common Non-Surgical Vein Treatment Options
If you are diagnosed with vein disease, know the options that are available to you! Through the advancements of technology, surgical treatment is no longer the only available option. While treatments will vary depending on the type and severity of venous disease, all are office-based techniques that can be performed at our SouthPark or Lake Norman Charlotte Radiology Vein Center locations.
Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) for Varicose Veins:
EVLT is an hour-long non-surgical procedure using ultrasound guidance to close off the varicose vein, naturally rerouting blood to healthier veins. Medical Sclerotherapy is typically performed as a follow-up to EVLT to treat diseased superficial veins.
Sclerotherapy for Spider Veins:
Cosmetic Sclerotherapy (performed by one of our registered nurses) is the cosmetic treatment of spider veins to minimize or eliminate their appearance using a safe injectable solution. More than one treatment session may be needed to achieve desired results, especially if you have multiple areas to treat.
